Exciting News: Democrats “Newly Willing” to Compromise On Troop Withdrawal, So Just Imagine Our Relief Here at VDB
From the Brain-Dead Headline department of the New York Times: “Democrats Newly Willing to Compromise on Iraq.”
Fascinating stuff. Just fascinating.
And news indeed, especially since this new plasticity centers around a truly novel idea: making troop withdrawal “a goal, rather than something that is binding.”
Damn, do we find this an exciting development here at VDB. No more pissing up the same treacherous rope in Iraq, no more hundreds of billions up in smoke. Because Senate Democrats have finally realized that the way to end this war is to set a goal for the President.
Nothing unseemly. A hint. A wink, a nod. The sort of gentlemanly approach that works so well with those of Bush’s psychological profile.
Yes, all of you young inductees can breathe a bit easier, because the days of take-no-prisoners, bullheaded Democratic intransigence are over. We get it now: give a little, to get a little. So seemingly simple, and yet how long it took us to realize that truth on this side of the aisle.
Shout it from the rooftops: War is Over!
