Newsweek has been running a very readable series of embedded reports called “How He Did It: The Inside Story of Campaign 2008.” Much of it received wisdom, but with the occasional bit of real news. Most disgusting revelation in the whole kit and kaboodle? Hands down: “Piper, the governor’s 7-year-old, thought nothing of crawling across Joe Lieberman’s lap to get to her mother. Lindsey Graham mischievously enjoyed getting the child hopped up on Mountain Dew, a beverage to which he was mildly addicted.” How sweet. Not quite Neverland Ranch and not quite normal, but somewhere just uncomfortably in between.
